My next critical event took place as part of the Learning Circle discussion on November 13. Conversation centered on frustration with computer knowledge of teachers and their ability, or lack of, to incorporate computers into the classroom curriculum. I cited frustration I had with hiring teachers who said they knew computers well because the could write papers in Word and design Power Point presentations. We agreed that this type of computer knowledge did not mean that a teacher could implement a computer into the curriculum. The group's conclusion was that the teacher colleges need to train teachers in how to use computers within the classroom environment.
